The VAMPIRE Facelift ®
The Vampire Facelift at Las Vegas Aesthetics is a favorite procedure of the practice as it uses your own body to heal and repair your own body. Like scraping your knee when you were a child, this procedure takes advantage of the body’s ability to heal, repair & regenerate itself.
When done successfully with the correct equipment and proper utilization of dermal fillers, the benefits can be experienced on the same day with continuing benefits lasting for several months even surpassing a year after the procedure.
Is Surgery Involved in the Vampire Facelift® ?
The Vampire Facelift is not actually a facelift at all. It is a skin resurfacing type treatment which utilizes your body’s “growth factors” which are found in your own “blood” platelets. Here is where the “Vampire” trademarked name comes in. The Vampire Facelift makes use of additional hyaluronic acid dermal fillers e.g., Restylane® or Restylane Lyft® or Juvederm®, which works in conjunction with the platelet rich plasma or “PRP” creating a new volumization, more youthful appearance in the skin and in time the improved overall quality of the skin.
So what exactly is a Vampire Facelift?
The Vampire Facelift is a concierge procedure, it is a customized personalized way to enhance and restore volume in the face using a combination of dermal fillers e.g. Restylane Lyft® or Voluma® or Juvederm® with Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix “PRFM” which is a more bio-active form of platelet-rich plasma.
The most important part of the Vampire Facelift is the injection of the Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix which is derived from the patient’s own blood after being mixed with other ingredients.
When the patient arrives for the procedure, the patient has a blood draw like any typical cholesterol test. What differs from other competitors in Las Vegas performing the Vampire Facelift is the amount of blood drawn. We draw typically five times the amount of our competitors.
Is this safe to draw this amount of blood?
Yes, although 5x more than our competitors, it is still significantly less than a pint of blood in a typical blood donation.
The benefit of drawing this much blood is that it yields a higher platelet count which is then responsible for the formation of the Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix. Another way of looking at how profound the difference is, is if you compare a pint of milk container to a gallon of milk container. Which holds more milk? The gallon holds more, subsequently 50cc’s of blood holds more platelets than 10cc’s of blood.
Our Vampire Facelift utilizes five times the amount of platelets, which is 5 times more bio-activity, which yields more powerful results.
After the blood is drawn it is spun in a specialized centrifuge separating the bloods parts. It will look similar to a small container of oil and vinegar after it’s been separated. The darker color is mainly red blood cells the lighter color is where the plasma and platelets reside. The red blood cells are discarded and the remaining serum and platelets are re-centrifuged and again concentrated. Just before injecting into the skin other activators are added which within minutes will turn the liquid PRP substance into a thicker gel “Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix” type substance, so speed, accuracy & experience is essential to the process of the Vampire Facelift. If the activated PRP is not injected in time, it will conform to an unworkable, un-injectable blob of gel.
Once the PRP- PRFM is in the skin it quickly stimulates the production of collagen for new tissue development. It’s rejuvenating qualities in the skin will help improve the texture, tone and volume with increase collagen production, new skin development, fatty tissue generation, new blood supply and a healthier glow to your skin which creates the youthful appearance.
Can Anyone Have a Vampire Facelift®?
Actually no. The Vampire Facelift is not the best procedure for some people, especially for smokers. If you smoke cigarettes it will not work as effectively as it will on non-smokers.
Additionally, many people hope it will eliminate all the facial movement that creates fine lines and wrinkles. Expectations must be understood that the role of the Vampire Facelift is more regenerative and along the lines of a global resurfacing for the face. To diminish the movement creating frown lines and crow’s-feet that would require a neurotoxin like Botox® or Dysport®.
Other than these restrictions, most everyone will benefit from a Vampire Facelift®.
Which Areas of the Face Will Benefit from the Vampire Facelift®?
At Las Vegas Aesthetics we apply PRP from the hairline to the chin and jaw line and back to the ears. The whole face is covered and treated. It includes the Dermal filler which most likely will be applied to the upper cheek area to create the “Apple” of the cheek… the facial “sign of youth.” Microneedling emphasis will be on the corners of the mouth, vertical lip lines, forehead wrinkles, frown lines, nasolabial folds or smile lines, bunny lines on the nose, acne scarring and discoloration. A comment we hear from almost every patient is how pore size seems to simply vanish and is greatly diminished by the Vampire Facelift treatment.
Why Should You Come to Las Vegas Aesthetics for Your Vampire Facelift®?
Currently there are approximately 1000 trained, licensed, certified providers for this concierge treatment. Las Vegas Aesthetics is the only facility in the Las Vegas utilizing the most advanced centrifuge and PRP collection system in the world. It CANNOT be overemphasized that platelet concentration makes all the difference! It is literally impossible to gain the concentration of platelets utilizing the PRP systems most providers currently use. Refer back to the milk example above. So utilizing higher concentrations of Platelet Rich Plasma, your results will be more significant than most locations in the Las Vegas area.
In addition to injecting the “Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix” we will also utilize the platelet rich plasma and microneedle the entire face giving a global Rejuvenation to the whole face not just the problem areas so the results are more uniform.
How long does the Vampire Facelift® take?
In total it will take two hours due of the extensive time we use during the micro needling process. This includes the hyaluronic acid filler, the injection of “Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix” and micro needling with platelet-rich plasma. If during your due-diligence, a facility says the procedure is complete in less than one hour, keep researching.
Can I Have the Vampire Facelift® if I Smoke Cigarettes?
Cigarette smoking interferes with the ability of the growth factors to communicate with stem cells. That’s interfering with the healing process and regeneration. For a smoker, I might suggest Botox® or Dysport® and regular dermal fillers e.g. Restylane Lyft® or Radiesse® or a Juvederm® versus using Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix.
Can the Vampire Facelift® be used with Botox® at the same time?
This is probably the number one request and yes, you can combine the Vampire Facelift® with Botox® or Dysport®. An in-person consultation will be necessary to determine what the best course of action and procedure is right for you.
Is the Vampire Facelift® the Same as Getting Stem Cells?
No, is the short answer. At lower concentrations which are derived from a 10cc or 12 CC blood draw you cannot concentrate the blood enough to result in 5cc’s of Platelet Rich Plasma. . It’s mathematically impossible, although the Reps will do their best to explain otherwise. You will have platelets in plasma but it will be PPP or Platelet Poor Plasma.
With more blood, higher concentrations of platelet rich plasma are available. This is why high concentrations of platelet-rich plasma is so critical. With 5 times the amount of platelets, after they become activated it turns the PRP into Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix, this in turn sends a chemotactic signal – like a chemical telephone call to unipotent stem cells in the area to start proliferating and creating new tissue, new vasculature, new nerve tissue which will result in volume and a more rejuvenated appearance, improved skin quality, blood flow and blood supply, new collagen and new tissue.
How Long Will the Vampire Facelift® Last?
The effects of PRP in soft tissue start to occur at the 3 week mark. The ongoing effects of the procedure will continue to increase for three months starting with in the time of injection. The volumization effects of the Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix will be visible starting on the 1st day. Effects can last for over a year. As it is an elective procedure some clients choose to have it done every three months. If there is room in the budget, it’s the number one procedure to ask for.
What is the Difference Between the Vampire Facelift® and the Vampire Facial®?
The Vampire Facelift utilizes a hyaluronic acid dermal filler like Restylane Lyft® or Voluma® or Juvederm® and the injection of platelet rich fibrin Matrix. The Vampire Facial® does not have the dermal filler and the PRP is microneedled down to the surface and Infused through the skin.
Is the Vampire Facelift the Same as a “Liquid Facelift?”
Actually neither procedure is a facelift in strict medical terms. The liquid facelift procedures are when a substance like a dermal filler or fat is injected into the skin to revolumize the face. In that sense the Vampire Facelift is the same as a liquid facelift. A surgical facelift requires anesthesia scalpels cutting and sutures and repositioning of the skin.
